Abstract

The long-standing dichotomy between religious and scientific knowledge has resulted in a fragmented educational paradigm within the Muslim world, often leading to intellectual stagnation and a detachment from modern scientific progress. This scientific dualism separates "revealed knowledge" from "scientific knowledge," creating an existential crisis for the modern Muslim identity. This study aims to formulate a strategic framework for integrating Islam and science within the context of Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies, seeking to bridge the gap between revelation and reason. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes primary and secondary literature across classical Islamic texts and modern scientific discourse. An interdisciplinary perspective is utilized to critically examine the integration of Islamic values with social and natural sciences. The findings reveal that the integration of Islam and science can be operationalized through three multidimensional epistemological frameworks: Bayani (text-based integration), Burhani (contextual and empirical integration), and Irfani (spiritual and utilitarian integration). This approach emphasizes the simultaneous study of Ayat Qawliyah (revelation) and Ayat Kauniyah (the universe) as two manifestations of the same Ultimate Reality. Furthermore, the study identifies that true integration requires the development of scientific ethics (akhlaq) to prevent the secular-materialistic misuse of technology. Breaking the scientific dichotomy is not merely a philosophical necessity but a strategic requirement for building a sustainable Islamic civilization. This framework provides an epistemological blueprint for a holistic, non-dichotomous educational system that reconciles spiritual depth with scientific rigor.
