Abstract

Amidst digital-era value disruptions, madrasas are required to provide leadership capable of deeply internalizing religious values beyond mere formality. This study aims to analyze the transformational leadership strategies of madrasa principals in strengthening students' multidimensional religiosity (ritualistic, experiential, and intellectual dimensions). This study employed a qualitative approach with a multi-site case study design at MA NU Lekok and MA Fathul Latif Rejoso. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using cross-site thematic analysis. The findings reveal that principals implement idealized influence as physical role modeling in worship; inspirational motivation through spiritual advice that touches the soul; intellectual stimulation through Quranic literacy innovations (MQ and BTQ programs); and individualized consideration in personal student guidance. The "Leading by Example" strategy integrates transformational theory with Islamic spiritual values, creating a madrasa ecosystem that supports both rational and emotional faith growth. This research provides a managerial blueprint for educational leaders in designing holistic and adaptive religious character development strategies.
