The Influence of Headteachers’ Leadership, Work Motivation and Incentives on the Work Discipline of Teachers at State Junior High Schools in Tapin Regency

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine: (1) the role of the principal's leadership affects the work discipline of state junior high school teachers in Tapin Regency. (2) the work motivation of teachers affects the work discipline of teachers in public junior high schools in Tapin Regency. (3) the provision of teacher incentives has an effect on the work discipline of state junior high school teachers in Tapin Regency. (4) the leadership role of the principal, teacher work motivation and the provision of incentives together affect the work discipline of state junior high school teachers throughout Tapin Regency.The research method that researchers use is explanatory. The population of this study were all principals and teachers at SMP Negeri in Tapin Regency as many as 68 people in total sampling. Collecting data in this research through questionnaires, interviews, documentation and observation, data analysis was carried out quantitatively through a regression model using the SPSS for windows version 20.0 application.The results of the study show: (1) Partially, the role of the principal has an effect on the work discipline of teachers in SMP Negeri in Tapin Regency. (2) Partially, employee motivation has an effect on the work discipline of teachers at SMP Negeri in Tapin Regency. (3) Partially, the provision of employee incentives has an effect on the work discipline of teachers at SMP Negeri in Tapin Regency. (4) Simultaneously, from the regression equation, it can be stated that the role of the principal (X₁), work motivation (X₂) and the provision of incentives (X₃) on the work discipline of teachers at SMP Negeri in Tapin Regency shows a significant effect because Based on the results of the F test it is known that F count>F Table. Or with the number F count 19,899> F Table 2.45 so that the hypothesis is proven true.
